This object in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam is from an anonymous artist in Delft and dated ca. 1750. It is a “Butterdish on a platter with a lid topped by a button in the shape of a snail”. The official description speaks of an octagonal butterdish of multicolored painted faience, with Kakiemon decor [1].

The snail is stylised, with a dextral shell and clearly suggesting a spiral colour pattern, but nevertheless unidentifiable.
