This drawing on vellum is in an unknown private collection. It was made by Joris Hoefnagel in 1590 and depicts an Allegory on love, surrounded by flowers and animals. At the border above the text reads: “Est puer ille quiden multo sed providus asty / Ludit sed interdum ludendo sevia tentat”. 
In the lower border a snail is seen (the shells left and right are tropical sea shells). The animal is naturalistically drawn, the dextral shell has a colour pattern that suggests it was drawn after a Cepaea species.
