This is one of the treasures from Teylers Museu in Haarlem. Herman Henstenburgh made between 1674 and 1716 this colour drawing, entitled “Fruit still life in a landscape, in the background a rock” [1, 2].
Snails may be seen here only in the shadows and appear merely ‘en profil’, unless you zoom in on them. They are two dextral Cepaea specimens.
