Musée Joseph Déchelette is a small museum in the French city of Roanne. In its collection is a still life by the Dutch painter Jan van Os (1774-1808). This oil paint on panel is dated 1771. He probably worked mainly in The Hague [1, 2].
Near the edge of the table, in the foreground, a shell is seen. The dextral specimen resembles a Cepaea species, although details are not enough to ascertain this.
