By serendipity I landed on the site of Kharbine Tapabor in Paris, who has a large collection of prints in all kinds, mainly from the 19th and 20th century. Some are really astonishing, but in the context of this blog only those are shown which originated at least 100 years ago.

This is a chromoprint postcard, showing a little angle riding a carriage of two snails and dragonflies [1]. It was designed by an anonymous artist around 1880. The dextral snails are slightly stylised, with only two tentacles clearly shown.
