Maron is a village in north-eastern France in the Department Meurthe-et-Moselle. The inhabitants of the village are being called “meulsons”, a name indicating a snail was common in the coat-of-arms in the region.
In the “blason” of Maron two snails are present in the upper fields, both stylised with two tentacles only. One is dextral, one sinistral. Doubtless a case of ‘forced symmetry’ by design.
