In an album of designs for embroidery made in Holland ca. 1615–1635, this design in yellow and brown wash has two snails among flowers and birds [1]. The album is now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.

The snails are in the lower part of the design and symmetrically positioned. One is dextral, the other sinistral. Both a stylised, with two tentacles.
