In the National Gallery, Dublin, an oil painting made by George Sharp (1802–1877) is entitled “Creeping like Snail unwillingly to School” . The painting is undated, it’s title is referring to the symbolism of snails as lazy animals.
With the dark tones used, it is difficult to view the snail even after magnification. It is a dextral specimen, seemingly Cepaea-like.
