This drawing was made in 1558 by Paolo Farinati (1524–1606), who worked in Verona. It is now in the colllection of the Dapertment of Drawings and Prints in the Pierpont Morgan Museum and entitled “Allegorical Figure of Verona with View of City in Background” [1, 2].
To the right of the foot of Verona a highly stylised, dextral snail may be seen.
