This manuscript in the Bodleian Library collection of Medieval and Renaissance Manuscripts are two Books of Hours with prayers for private use. It dates from the end of the 15th century and is of Flemish origin [1].

On folio 122r we find the first snail, in a border together with flowers.

The snail is stylised, with a sinistral shell, the thickened apertural lip drawn as a sharp edge.

Folio 197v shows a snail and a grasshopper with some rose flowers.

The snail is dextral and the animal shows both the large and small tentacles. The aperture is shown as simple, not thickened.

Finally, folio 324r shows a sinistral snail, the apertural lip is thickened again, and the head of the animal is hidden behind one of the seeds.
